What is the IELTS Test?

IELTS Band Score

The bright side is that the IELTS exam cannot be failed. The results are evaluated on a scale of 1 to 9, with 1 being the lowest possible score and 9 being the highest.

Because each component of the test – Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening – is assigned a separate score, your total exam result will include a score for each component as well as an overall band score. The average of the four individual band scores generates the overall band score.

Your band score is intended to accurately reflect your level of skill in all four components of English – writing, speaking, reading, and listening.

This information can then be used by various institutions to determine whether you will be able to successfully study, work, or reside in the nation to which you are applying.
